Memsource - a unique web platform

As we manage small and large projects for a multitude of clients, sometimes working to a tight deadline, we had to acquire a tool which ensures flexibility in project management, as well as a CAT tool linked to a translation memory (TM) on a server.

One of the first such solutions available on the market is the software developed by the Czech company Memsource.

The core of the system is a number of web-based services which do not require installing any client programs.

This allows for greater mobility, in particular for translators, who can work even on a train or bus.

Web-based solutions introduce changes also in the work of the translation agency. Project managers can access projects whenever and wherever they want.

Security, comfort and real savings

If TM is stored on a server and the translator works using a web browser, many potential threats can be excluded. Even if a serious computer malfunction occurs, the linguist will not lose the translation they have been working on.

What is more, they can continue work on any other computer. Convenience and security.

What about savings? The translation agency saves time thanks to centralised project management. The translator saves precious time by using translation memory. Delivery times are significantly shorter and translation costs are lowered as well.
